Result:After Magistrate's Hearing, the Clerk's Office found there was no probable cause for the charges and declined to issue a Criminal Complaint.

CLIENT AVOIDS MANDATORY-MINIMUM SENTENCE ON GUN CHARGES

December 9, 2022: Attleboro District Court
Charges:
  • Possess Large Capacity Firearm;
  • Possess Firearm Without FID Card;
  • Possess Ammunition Without FID Card;
  • Improper Storage of Large Capacity Firearm
Result:Attorney Riccio negotiated a plea deal with the prosecution that included a dismissal of the Possession of Lg. Capacity Firearm charge, which carried a mandatory-minimum sentence, and the Improper Storage of Lg. Capacity Firearm charge. The remaining two charges will be dismissed so long as the client successfully completes two years of probation.

November 16, 2022: Lawrence District Court
Charges:
  • OUI-Liquor, 3rd Offense
Result:Attorney Riccio convinced the prosecution to reduce the charges to OUI-Liquor, 2nd offense. By reducing the charges, Attorney Riccio’s client avoided a felony conviction and 6-month mandatory minimum jail sentence. As part of the plea agreement, the client will not serve any jail time.
